Privacy policy

Effective 18 August 2026. BursaryZA is a reading site. There is no account to create, no form to submit, and nothing you need to tell us in order to use it.

Who we are

BursaryZA is operated by NE Affiliate, based in South Africa. For any privacy question or request, email [email protected].

What we do not collect

We do not ask for your name, ID number, matric results, CV, or any application document. We have no login, no newsletter sign-up, and no contact form. You apply for every opportunity on the provider's own website, not here, so your application data never passes through BursaryZA.

What is collected automatically

  • Hosting logs. The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as your IP address, browser user agent, and the page requested, in order to serve the page and protect against abuse. See Cloudflare's own privacy documentation for their retention terms.
  • Google Analytics 4. We use Google Analytics (measurement ID G-6XBKL0N2WR) to count visits and see which listings people actually open, so we know what to keep publishing. It sets cookies and receives your IP address, which we have configured to be anonymised. Advertising signals are switched off: ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization are all denied, so no advertising profile is built from your visit here. A notice bar tells you this on your first visit; you can block these cookies in your browser settings at any time, and the site works normally without them.
  • Advertising. If and when advertising is enabled on this site, the ad provider may set cookies or similar identifiers to measure and personalise ads. That processing is governed by the advertiser's own policy. This page will name the provider when that happens.

We do not fingerprint visitors, and we do not sell or share personal information with anyone.

Links to other sites

Every listing links out to a provider, funder, or source site. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else's site under their privacy policy. We tag outbound links with a plain source parameter so providers can see that the visit came from BursaryZA. That parameter identifies this website, not you.

Your rights under POPIA

South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act gives you the right to ask what personal information a party holds about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. Because we hold no personal information about visitors, there is usually nothing for us to return or erase. If you believe otherwise, email us and we will investigate and respond.

Information about opportunity providers

Listings describe organisations and their published funding programmes. That information is taken from public web pages. If you represent a provider and want a listing corrected or removed, email us and we will action it. See also our terms of use.

Children

Many bursary applicants are under 18. That is exactly why this site collects nothing: there is no sign-up, and no personal data of any age group is gathered by us.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than made silently.
