The internship provides graduates with practical exposure to procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier management, commercial analysis and technology-enabled service delivery while working with PwC’s Procurement Managed Services team.

About the PwC Graduate Internship Programme

PwC’s Procurement Managed Services team works as an extension of clients’ procurement functions, providing sourcing services within established operating procedures and service levels.

Graduate interns will support procurement sourcing teams working with client stakeholders and suppliers across different spending categories.

The programme provides practical exposure to the end-to-end sourcing lifecycle, allowing graduates to develop analytical, commercial, technological and relationship-management skills relevant to a career in procurement.

What Will Graduate Interns Do?

Successful applicants will support sourcing projects throughout different stages of the procurement process.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting sourcing projects from initial requirements through market analysis, supplier engagement, bid evaluation, recommendations and handover;
• Conducting supplier and market research;
• Gathering category intelligence;
• Identifying potential suppliers;
• Supporting supplier pre-qualification and onboarding;
• Preparing requests for information and proposals;
• Managing sourcing documentation, bidder communications and timelines;
• Maintaining clarification logs;
• Analysing spending, pricing and supplier data;
• Comparing supplier bids;
• Developing evaluation packs;
• Supporting the identification and tracking of savings and other value opportunities;
• Coordinating meetings, actions and approvals with stakeholders and suppliers;
• Escalating risks and delays when necessary;
• Maintaining sourcing pipelines, trackers and repositories;
• Maintaining supplier records, audit trails and management reports;
• Assisting with negotiation preparation;
• Supporting contracting handovers;
• Assisting with supplier performance activities; and

Interns will perform these activities under the guidance of experienced procurement professionals.

Procurement Systems and Project Support

Successful candidates will also gain exposure to procurement technology and project-management processes.

Interns may be expected to understand procurement systems sufficiently to support the team as system super users, helping to reduce administrative demands on sourcing specialists.

They will also support the project management team with the development and maintenance of tracking tools.
