Volkswagen Group Africa is offering bursary funding to qualifying undergraduate students studying at recognised and accredited tertiary institutions in South Africa.
The bursary covers a wide range of Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Business, Finance, Logistics and related qualifications.
Applicants must be entering their second, third or fourth year of undergraduate study in 2027.
Successful bursary recipients may receive funding for:
Bursary recipients may also have opportunities to participate in vacation work and receive mentoring, development and additional academic support.
Applicants must be South African citizens by birth and must have completed Matric.
Candidates must have obtained a Bachelor’s Pass in Matric with a minimum average of 70%.
Applicants must be studying full-time towards an eligible undergraduate qualification and must be entering their second, third or fourth year in 2027.
A minimum tertiary academic average of 65% is required.
Students must be registered at a recognised and accredited South African tertiary institution and must not be employed on a full-time basis.
The bursary does not cover Master’s or Doctoral studies.
Preference will be given to students from designated groups in line with Volkswagen Group Africa’s transformation objectives and Employment Equity Plan.
Students who receive VWGA bursary funding will be required to work back for Volkswagen Group Africa after graduation.
The work-back obligation applies for each year of funding received from VWGA.
Applicants should therefore carefully consider this condition before accepting a bursary award.
Candidates may undergo several stages before final selection, including screening, shortlisting, an interview and psychometric assessments.
Successful candidates will also be required to sign an agreement provided by Volkswagen Group Africa.
Shortlisted applicants are expected to be contacted by 28 November 2026.
Applicants who have not received feedback by that date should regard their application as unsuccessful.
