Bursaries will be awarded to Black female students, for studies towards a Postgraduate Architecture Degree.
Through the bursary programme, the foundation aims to assist previously disadvantaged women, with strong academic merit but lacking financial means, to further their studies within the Architecture field.
The bursary will be awarded for 1 year of study.
Payments will be made directly into the account of the students academic institution, after the submission of proof of registration and the academic Tax Invoice.
Successful candidates will be contacted by 3 December 2026. If you do not receive any feedback by this date, please consider your application unsuccessful.
The final awarding of the bursary will be dependent on 2 factors: final results and proof of Tuition Fees from the university.
Bursary recipients will be required to enter into a bursary agreement with the foundation.

The MacMillan Foundation NPC is a South African non-profit organisation established by SNAPP Architects (Pty) Ltd to help develop future leaders in the architectural profession. The Foundation invests in talented aspiring architects by providing financial assistance, mentorship and professional guidance, enabling students to complete postgraduate studies and build successful careers in the built environment.
Through its bursary programme, the Foundation supports Black South African women under the age of 35 who demonstrate strong academic potential but require financial assistance to pursue a postgraduate qualification in Architecture. Beyond funding tuition, the Foundation encourages recipients through one-on-one mentoring, industry exposure and a supportive professional network, helping graduates develop the skills and confidence needed to contribute to South Africa’s architectural landscape.
