WHAT FIELDS OF STUDY DOES THE LIMPOPO DEPT OF PUBLIC WORKS BURSARY COVER?

The Limpopo Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2027 academic year.

Bursaries will be awarded to students residing in the Limpopo province, for studies within the following Built Environment fields:

  • Architectural Science
  • Asset Management
  • Building Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Information Technology / Management
  • Landscaping
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Quantity Surveying

Limpopo faces a shortage of qualified engineers, technicians and other professionals needed to develop, maintain and manage government infrastructure. The bursary programme provides financial assistance to students pursuing qualifications in these scarce skills fields, helping bridge the gap between academic learning and practical employment opportunities.

WHAT EXPENSES DOES THE LIMPOPO DEPT OF PUBLIC WORKS BURSARY COVER?

The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: registration fees, tuition fees, prescribed textbooks, accommodation and meals.

WHAT ARE THE OBLIGATIONS AND SELECTION OF THE LIMPOPO DEPT OF PUBLIC WORKS BURSARY?

Bursary recipients will be required to work back the bursary on completion of studies - the work period will be equal to that of the bursary awarded.

Final candidates will be selected by the Training Committee, thereafter, successful candidates will be notified in writing and required to sign a bursary agreement with the Department.

Students must submit proof of registration from their institution and sign the bursary agreement, before bursary payment is made.
