TUT Educational Psychology Internship 2027

The Directorate of Higher Education and Support within the Department of Student Development and Support at Tshwane University of Technology is offering one Educational Psychology Internship opportunity.

The internship will run for 12 months and will commence on:

02 January 2027

In line with HPCSA requirements, the internship is full-time and the successful intern will be required to work during school holidays.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be currently registered as an MA student in Educational Psychology at a recognised university.
• Be registered with the HPCSA as an Intern Psychologist by no later than January 2027.

Key Responsibilities

The successful intern will be expected to:

• Provide professional counselling, therapy and assessment services to registered TUT students under the supervision of a registered Educational Psychologist.
• Work with schools around Soshanguve to provide educational psychology services to learners.
• Conduct individual and group therapeutic interventions.
• Conduct psycho-educational assessments.
• Help develop the academic and personal skills of TUT students.
• Participate in webinars, awareness campaigns and other psycho-educational initiatives.
• Assist with social media content and life-skills classes.
• Write professional and psychometrically sound assessment reports.
• Comply with administrative requirements within Student Development and Support.
• Attend multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Work collaboratively as part of a student support team.
